1. Introduction
Popobi Studio ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting player privacy. This Privacy Policy details how City Builder: Sort & Build (formerly developed under the code name "Workshop Jam", Android package com.popobi.citybuilder) handles information across mobile devices.
The game operates under a strict privacy-by-default architecture:
- No Mandatory Account Creation: You can download and enjoy the entire campaign without creating an account, logging in, or sharing personal credentials.
- Offline-First Gameplay: All puzzle mechanics, staging queues, landmark construction, and progress storage function natively on your device without an active internet connection.
- No Sensitive In-Game Data: The game does not ask for real names, email addresses, phone contacts, GPS location, photos, camera access, or microphone recordings. The optional website playtest form is described separately below.
2. Information We Collect and Process
When your device is connected to the internet while running City Builder: Sort & Build, non-sensitive and pseudonymous telemetry is collected by trusted platform services:
2.1 Pseudonymous Device & Advertising Identifiers
The Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) may access device advertising identifiers (Google Advertising ID / GAID on Android, or IDFA on iOS if authorized).
- Purpose: Deliver contextual or personalized in-game ads, prevent fraudulent traffic, and track ad performance.
- User Consent: In applicable territories (EEA, UK, Switzerland, California), personalized advertising is strictly opt-in and handled transparently through the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent dialogue.
2.2 In-App Purchases & Financial Information
When you purchase virtual items (e.g. coin packs or the "Remove Forced Ads" entitlement), transactions are validated exclusively through Google Play Billing or Apple StoreKit.
- Payment Security: Popobi Studio never receives, views, or stores your credit card numbers, payment instruments, or billing addresses.
2.3 Gameplay Telemetry & Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized gameplay milestones (level completions, failure checkpoints, booster activations, and daily rewards).
- Purpose: To balance puzzle difficulty curves, verify staging fairness, and optimize game pacing. Telemetry is evaluated strictly in aggregate.
2.4 Crash Diagnostics & Stability
Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects anonymous technical diagnostic reports in the event of an application crash (device model, OS version, RAM status, and crash stack trace).
- Purpose: To diagnose and resolve software bugs across different device specifications. Crash reports contain zero user files or personal communications.
2.5 Pseudonymous Guest Player Profile
When connected to the internet, your device synchronizes your local architectural career stats with our secure game server:
- Randomly generated Player UUID (e.g.
b4e9...) - Selected architectural nickname (e.g. "Master Architect")
- Chosen avatar icon badge (e.g. Hard Hat, Blueprint)
- Highest puzzle level completed, star count, and current district stage
This data is pseudonymous and never tied to your personal identity. You can permanently reset or purge it by clearing app data or uninstalling the game.
2.6 Google Play Closed-Test Email (Website Only)
If you voluntarily join our pre-release Android test through this website, we collect the Google account email you submit so Popobi Studio can add you to the Google Play closed-testing list. We do not use that address for advertising or unrelated marketing.
- Purpose: Grant and manage access to the Google Play closed test.
- Storage: The address is stored on Popobi Studio's secured game-operations server and is visible only to authorized administrators.
- Choice: Joining is optional and does not create an in-game account.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We work with industry-standard, certified platform partners:
- Google AdMob & UMP: Privacy-compliant ad serving & consent management (Google Privacy Policy).
- Google Play Billing & Services: Store purchases and platform security (Google Play Terms).
- Apple StoreKit & iOS Services: iOS in-app purchases (Apple Privacy Policy).
- Firebase (Google LLC): Analytics and crash reporting (Firebase Privacy).
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Google Families Policy)
City Builder: Sort & Build is designed for a general audience (ages 13 and above). We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under 13.
The visual art style contains mechanical cargo crates, fasteners, delivery vehicles, and architectural district construction, with zero humanoid characters or living creature depictions. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact mfirdaus1453@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local Storage: Your game progression and virtual items are saved in device storage. Uninstalling the app permanently purges all local data.
- Third-Party Logs: Analytics data is automatically expired by Google and Firebase in accordance with standard data retention schedules (typically 14 months).
- Closed-Test Emails: Tester addresses are retained only while needed to operate the Google Play test and release process, then deleted. You may request earlier removal through the privacy contact below.
- Advertising ID Reset: You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in Android OS settings (
Settings > Google > Ads) or iOS settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking).
6. Your Privacy Rights
- Opt-Out of Personalized Ads: Toggle off personalized ads in device settings or in-game consent settings. Contextual ads will still function.
- 100% Offline Mode: Turn on Airplane Mode or disconnect data to play without any network requests.
- GDPR / UK GDPR: Users in the EEA/UK have the right to request access, rectification, or erasure of their data, and may withdraw consent at any time.
- California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA): Popobi Studio does not sell or share personal data for monetary consideration.
7. Security Safeguards
All data transmitted to or from remote services utilizes industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2+ HTTPS). Local save files are integrity-checked to safeguard against tampering and corruption.
8. Policy Updates
We may update this policy periodically to reflect operational, legal, or platform updates. Revisions will be published on this page with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp.
